2026 LJCC POLAR PLUNGE

Are you ready for the 4th annual Polar Bear Plunge?!? What is a Polar Bear Plunge? Individuals will raise pledges to jump into the frigid waters of Lake James to raise money. Our Polar Bear Plunge is not for the faint of heart. Those courageous souls, (some might say crazy) who splash their way into icy cold winter waters can claim they are ‘freezin’ for a reason’. This event will definitely bring warmth to your heart, as well as a chill to your toes. Everyone is welcome to come fellowship, eat snack foods, sit by a warm fire, and watch some crazy people jump into the frigid water! We are gearing up for our 2026 Polar Plunge Fundraiser! Part of getting ready for this event is accessing the camp's needs. Through this assessment we have come to the conclusion that due to YOUR generosity, we have enough funds to provide campers with scholarships for the next TWO YEARS! Stepping out on faith, we have decided to keep 2026 summer camp rates the same as 2025 rates. We want you to join us in faith to help us accomplish that!
With that being said, all proceeds raised for the Polar Plunge will go towards our Bridge the Gap Fund. This fund is what enables us to keep camp affordable for all campers! The Bridge the Gap Fund quite literally bridges the gap of what it actually costs to run a camp session versus what we charge per session. There is a gap between those two numbers. This fund fills in the gap to help sustain and propel LJCC into the future!
We want to thank everyone for their generosity from last year's Polar Plunge. You are the reason we are able to bless our camper families with this decision!

SCHEDULE: 10:30am - Registration and Check-in, Location: Dining Hall 11:15am - The Plunge 12pm (noon) - Lunch provided by the camp 12:30pm - Awards and funds raised outcome! THEME: Dress up as your favorite Sports Team or Mascot! We will be giving out awards in the following categories: 1) Most Creative 2) Most Original 3) Staff Favorite COST: No Cost! Participants should download the Sponsor Pledge Sheet. This form allows you to record sponsors. AGES: 12 and up, anyone under 18 y/o MUST have parental consent in order to participate. INTERESTED?! Here's a couple steps you must take in order to jump into the frigid waters of Lake James! 1) Register online using the button 2) Download and print the Pledge Spreadsheet so you can record your sponsors and their pledges! Your sponsors can either send you with a check (written to LJCA) or direct them to donate online by scanning the QR code on the sheet. 3) You must have a signed copy of the Liability Waiver to be able to participate.
